Mark 2 Automation Positioned for Continued Growth with Acquisition by Elwood Corporation

Germantown , WI - On May 25, Mark 2 Automation was acquired by Elwood Corporation of Oak Creek, Wisconsin. The acquisition provides added resources and corporate strength to allow continued innovative development of Mark 2's technology driven automation equipment. Mark 2 will be able to put even greater emphasis towards research and development of new products, while providing customers with the unsurpassed support that has been a foundation of the company.

Mark 2 Automation provides automation equipment for the plastic injection molding industry which includes a full line of sprue pickers, traversing robots with servo, variable frequency or pneumatic drive systems and custom components such as end-of-arm tooling and downstream equipment. Since 1988 Mark 2 has designed and built their automation equipment as a U.S. supplier and will continue as a group of the Elwood Corporation.

"Mark 2 operations will be moved to Elwood Corporation's 33,000 sq. ft. Oak Creek, Wisconsin plant allowing us to combine our manufacturing, engineering and accounting systems with Elwood's other industrial product lines for added efficiency and capacity", according to Mark Barelmann of Mark 2 Automation.

Both Mark Steinhardt and Mark Barelmann, founders of Mark 2 Automation, will continue their active roles in the company. It will be business as usual as Mark 2's employees will also continue to work in their present capacities as members of the Mark 2 Automation Group of Elwood Corporation.
