Automatic Extruder
Photoelectric controls may be used to protect an extrusion machine
from improperly ejected plastic parts.
The control is operated by a light source projecting a beam to a
high-speed sensor across the narrow neck of a funnel through which
parts must pass.
The sensor operates the timing control. The time delay is adjusted
to stop the extruding machine if a part is improperly ejected and
fails to break the light beam within the established time period.
The machine continues to extrude at maximum speed as long as parts
break the light beam at regular intervals.
