Protruding Loose Parts

Photoelectric controls can prevent processing problems before they arise. For example, parts in a processing basket sometimes protrude through the mesh and cause trouble.

A retro-reflective control is mounted above each side of the conveyor, with each beam directed down along the sides of the basket to a reflector mounted on the conveyor bed.

When a part protrudes through the basket, it interrupts a light beam on either side of the of the conveyor. The control relay actuates and is locked out, which means the control must be reset manually. IN this application, similar controls are used to detect parts protruding through the bottom of the basket.

This application illustrates the versatility of photoelectric controls which can be adapted to almost any situation requiring constant surveillance and control.
