Spacing Glue Deposits
If fabrication requires exactly spacing of glue deposits or
fasteners of almost any kind, photoelectric controls can provide
automated spacing with unmatched precision.
For example, a light beam is directed across a conveyor so that a
carton obscures the beam when the carton is underneath the gluing
machine. While the carton blocks the beam, the repeat cycle timer
function in the control begins actuating a solenoid to deposit spots
of glue on the flaps.
Both the glue spot size and spacing are independently adjustable.
Similar arrangements can be used for marking or spacing rivets or
drilling holes.
Photoelectric controls can be adapted to almost any automated
spacing requirement, virtually eliminating rejects and providing
cleaner and more efficient fabrication to meet high quality
standards.
