Trash Compactor
Trash compactors often operate inefficiently if compacting occurs
each time trash is dumped in to the compactor, or if trash is allowed to
build up beyond a certain level.
To regulate compaction and trash build up, a control and reflector
are mounted on opposite sides of the compactor bin. The light beam
shines though the bin at the desired height for operation. When
enough trash has been dumped into the bin to break the light)) beam,
the control starts the motor on the compactor.
A timing control prevents the motor from starting when the beam is
momentarily interrupted by falling objects.
