Drive Through Customer Detection
Many banks, restaurants and other businesses use photoelectric
controls to detect vehicles at drive-up windows. This allows
employees working in other areas to service drive-up windows without
making customers wait.
When it reaches the drive-up window, the vehicle breaks a light
beam back directed across the roadway, and the control sounds a
buzzer.
An automatic timing period on the control shuts off the buzzer if
the car remains parked in front of the control. When the vehicle
leaves, the timing period resets itself for the next vehicle.
