Prescaling

When counting large numbers of a high-speed process, prescaling can be used for longer counter life and higher speed.

Rather than connecting an external electric counter directly to a simple on/off control, a toggle batch counter can be used on the control itself so that the external counter is pulsed, say every 2 or 5 times the photoelectric control is tripped.
