Conveyor Jam Up

As a carton passes a control point on a conveyor, it is detected and starts the automatic timing period of the control. When there is no jam-up, each carton passes completely through the control point before the timing period expires.

When a jam-up does occur, the carton is detected beyond the automatic timing period and the photoelectric control energizes, immediately stopping the conveyor, operating a diverter, sounding an alarm or triggering any other mechanism for eliminating jam-ups as soon as they occur.
