Delayed Eject
Sorting containers of different heights and shapes on a conveyor
is done automatically by photoelectric controls without interrupting
the movement of the conveyor. This is possible even when
determination of a part to be ejected must occur some time before it has reached
the point where it can be ejected.
A light beam is directed across the conveyor at a sufficient
height so that only tall objects are detected. When the sensor detects
a tall object, the control relay energizes when the bottle reaches the
ejection mechanism, causing the removal of the tall object. The
control has the ability to ''remember'' the tall object until it
reaches the ejection point, while all other objects below the height
of the light beam continue along the conveyor.
