Dish Inspection

A laboratory fills clear plastic dishes automatically. To keep dishes sterile, the covers are raised only 1/2'' on one side when dishes are being filled. Loss and contamination result when the covers fail to lift or when both cover and dish are lifted.

To make sure that cover and dish are in the right position for filling, two scanners are used. One sensing unit checks cover position, the other checks dish position. If either cover or dish is not in place, the filling mechanism is stopped.
