Symmetrical Tubes
Uniformly orienting tubes or other round containers of a filling,
capping and/or packing operation requires the speed and precision of a
photoelectric control.
Uniform orientation can be accomplished very easily with a scanner
mounted on the side of a conveyor. For example, toothpaste tubes with
the cap end down, bottom up, and open can be rotated into position. A
register mark near the tube bottom is used for orientation. If the
photoelectric control fails to see the mark, it engages a spinning
clutch until the mark turns into the correct position and then
disengages the clutch. The conveyor stops when each tube moves into
spinning position.
