Tear Detection
Reflectors are not required in many photoelectric applications of
the object or material being monitored returns enough diffuse
reflected light to the sensor.
For example, the beam of a proximity control can be aimed directly
at a paper web that reflects the light beam back to o the sensor,
which is located in the same unit as the light source. If the web
breaks, the reflection is lost and the photoelectric control stops the
feeding mechanism>
The position of the light source permits the light beam to be
reflected directly back to the sensor in the same unit. This allows
greater flexibility in the number and placements of photoelectric
controls used to monitor moving objects.
